Hello - I was involved in an auto-accident in March of 2006 in which both insurance companies (mine and hers) agreed that it was the other party's fault and I was a zero-liability. Their insurance company (let's call them Venus , of ease) has asked for receipts ($1000 in rentals which my coverage does not cover), my deductible amount and any other amount which I had to put out (total is about $1,700). I have waited since April for them to pay me. I get letters from Venus every other week saying they are pending further investigation - but, I am at wits-end and want my money which I had to pay-out for an accident that everyone acknowledges is not my fault. Does anyone know what the law/rules are in California and how long they can take to pay after they find the other party is at fault? I only have an old Renault Clio P reg and I paid a very small amount for it and I'm just disgusted at the cost of it. I wanted to know if theres anything that can be done about it? I find it annoying as you can't change your age or your postcode or all this stuff that doesn't matter. I've got home insurance that I pay waaaay less for a month is madness.

The company where I work has just informed me that they will be canceling our medical benefits at the end of this month. What are some decent plans that I can get on my own that arent too expensive. I'm 17 soon so i'm looking for cars to get, and I've been looking at a 1.7 cdti Vauxhall Astra (100bhp) 3 door, and i can easily afford a decent 2005-07 model but its the insurance I'm worried about, i don't want to buy a nice decent first car and not be able to insure the damn thing, and all of the quote websites I've been on are giving me stupid answers so I'm just wondering if any of yous have had one of these for your first cars and how much it cost to insure it or if you just have a good idea on how much it would cost? thanks.

No insurance car accident, wasn't my fault, other insurance company demands payment. What can I do?

Hello, I need some advice. About 5 months ago, I was in a car accident where I had borrowed my brother's car to run a quick errand. I was not covered on the insurance for the vehicle. I was in a parking lot going straight about 15mph and another car from a feeder lane made a quick left turn (there was a stop sign for her) without paying attention and there was a collision. As far as I can tell, in this type of collision (left turn into a thoroughfare from a feeder) fault lies 100% with the other driver (as far as insurance goes). Today, I received a letter from a collection agency representing the other driver's insurance company demanding $10,000 in damages for repairs. They claim that the facts state that as a result of MY negligence I am responsible for the damages incurred. I cannot afford this. I don't know what to do. How is this my fault? Don't isurance companies follow specific fault determination rules? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you. I know I shouldn't have been driving that car. Only helpful answers please.

I ran over a rather large rock in a Toyota Prius and now the car rattles at 15 MPH, 25, 35, and 45 MPH. I dented the catalytic converter and I believe it needs replacing at the cost of $1800. I also dented the gas tank. In the 2007 Prius I believe there is a rubber bladder inside the tank that holds the gas. I am not sure how bad it is to have a dented tank such as mine. If I call the insurance and tell them what happened will that help ease the cost and I'll only have to pay a deductible? It's not my car and i'm not sure if it has full coverage or not. Thanks!
