I was quoted 1200 the beginning of this month for car insurance (its due feb, but I regularly look at quotes). Hi, I am an 18 year old male living in Huddersfield and in full time education at college. I passed my driving test in September 2010 and now its December, i decided to get an update of quotes on different cars such as 1.0 corsa's, 1.2 clio's and so on, but i was curious so i decided to check on my dad's 2005 1.4 diesel toyota. It came as a bit of a shock to me but i got a quote for 2600, on my own name some of the quotes i was getting were far to high, the lowest was 6000. So my question to you is, do you think 2600 is a reasonable quote to be a second driver on my dads car? I turned 18 a month ago and have had my driving lesson for just over 3 months, my dad has had his for over 30 years and has around 30 years no claims bonus, so do you think it is a reasonable quote ?

Some have been good companies like State Farm and Farmers. Some have been less, like Colonial Life and Axa advisers. I believe Axa wanted me for a commissioned investment broker position. State Farm has 9 month paid training, a huge signing bonus at the end and would be an excellent opportunity but it isn't for right now. What I did learn through all of this, especially from Colonial Life is that the insurance licenses aren't that hard or expensive to get. I'm thinking of getting life, health and auto. Does any one know of companies that have non-independent, salaried agents? I would like a commission, but not the 100% commission based model of Colonial or Axa. I also don't want to cold-call or drop off 180 envelops a week like Colonial demands. I don't want to be independent for the moment, although that is possible in the future with a good company like Farmers or State Farm. Right now I could work as a salaried sales person through an independent agent or direct hire. What is the best way to get on-board?

Any1 know of any cheap car insurance companies or crappy jobs? i just passed my test but the insurance is a jk?

I dont know what to do, im 18, have no job, a few gcses but not in maths n english, and an AS in finance so its not exactly shocking that i cant seem to get a job. does anybody know of any jobs that nobody else wants? i dont care what i have to do I NEED MY INSURANCE. looks like getting a job is the only way to do it :( would prefer office jobs coz i have experience in admin and accountancy. In reference to the third answer, I DO NOT HAVE KIDS. As I said family, I meant my mother, father, little sister, and my two little brothers. I would never degrade myself or follow secular things like sex before marriage. If I said i'm responsible, than I am. I'm helping my family out so that my future with my kids (30 years old and up!) is good without worries. So I'm sorry that you took it wrong, but it's rude to make assumptions and back them up with rude comments. But I agree, whoring yourself off is degrading and stupid. I'm not another teen that says, I'm so so responsible... and you see a baby on their lap with no male figure in site. So thanks. It's all cleared up now...

Provisional license insurance quote is cheaper then full license quote?

I done an insurance quote to find out how much it will cost to insure my car so i can drive with my mum in the car and L plates on it, the quote was cheaper then when i done a quote on the same car with a full license which is brilliant but i was wondering when i pass my test and need to re new the insurance can i just pay the extra or will i have to pay the full amount? any help would be brilliant thank you

i recently tried to tell my insurance agency (freeway insurance) in california that i want to remove a vehicle from my plan. however, they told me that i would still have to pay them the next month regardless because its a law or something. is this true? and can they really charge me a serivce fee for something like that? Auto Insurance Traffic Violation Question?

Ok, I am trying to get some new auto insurance quotes from other companies. My problem is I have a few moving violations. One speeding ticket and one ticket for running a stop sign. They ask me if my violations have happened in the last 35 months. They said I can be 30 days off of the violation date, if I can't remember the exact date. I can't remember the date or even close. I know I can call the DMV and get a copy of my driving record for around $10. I am just wondering if there is an easier way of getting this information. Possibly through the internet. Thanks

I was hoping to start trying to get pregnant within the next 3-6 months. I am a little discouraged after searching on line and finding many people saying most insurances have a waiting period anywhere from 6 months to 2 years!! Before they will cover maternity.
